About Us
Let me tell you a little about ourselves.
As a pair of old ‘Poms’ we celebrate the day we arrived in Australia every year. We proudly raised our 2 children in a country area north of Brisbane.
Moving north some 20 years ago to enjoy this beautiful region we soon realized our hobbies were taking over our lives.
We had always enjoyed being ‘in the bush’ so found 4 wheel driving, bird watching, camping, etc a natural extension for us. As National Parks volunteers we were privileged to visit some restricted areas and work with Rangers on specific projects. Our understanding of the ‘Wet Tropics’ soon grew along with that we soon realized how vast and fragile the region really is.
Moving to the dryer tropics of the Savannah country we have been able to expand on our passion for geology flora and fauna. Gem faceting became important to Pete with his mathematical enquiring mind while I have been able to develop a flare with design.
Being Grandparents we thought we would have to slow down but luckily our grandchildren love visiting us and have developed their own liking for fossicking.
So if you are traveling through this area please call in and see what we do.
